Barca Advance to the Q/final after 6-1 win over PSG

Barcelona did it. They fucking did it. They beat PSG with a 6-1 result, and advanced to the quarterfinals with one of the greatest comebacks in history despite conceding an away goal.

               FIRST HALF

The first period featured intense pressure from the Blaugrana, who launched a barrage of attacks and scored the first goal after just three minutes thanks to Luis Suárez's effort to win a header and get the ball over the line. The hosts needed three more goals, at least, and continued to pressure PSG and create dangerous chances.

They almost went into halftime without scoring another goal, but captain Andrés Iniesta never gave up during a scramble inside the box, and his backheel cross ended with Layvin Kurzawa scoring an own goal.

At halftime Barça cut the deficit in half, but the job to do was still really tough in the final period.

          SECOND HALF

Barça needed an early goal in the second half to have a shot at the miracle, and they got it when Thomas Meunier fouled Neymar inside the box. Lionel Messi buried the penalty to score the third for the Blaugrana. The miracle was on, but Edinson Cavani scored a beautiful goal, and PSG were in fantastic position to advance.

Barça needed three goals to make the miracle happen, and Neymar scored two late goals. Just one goal left for the miracle, AND SERGI ROBERTO SCORED IN THE LAST SECOND TO PUT THE BLAUGRANA IN THE QUARTERFINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Barcelona have taken a big step in signing Griezmann according to reports

Barcelona have reportedly taken a significant step toward acquiring the signature of Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann after it emerged they've reached a "principle of agreement" with their target. French newspaper Le10Sport (h/t Calciomercato.com) reported Griezmann has given the green light to a move to the Camp Nou and could be well on the path to joining the Blaugrana next summer. The same article explained how Griezmann pulled the plug on a switch to Manchester United last summer due to Atletico's transfer ban, and he then extended his contract to raise his release clause to €200 million (£178 million). Official: Dani Alves rejects Man city and joins PSG

Dani Alves terminated his contract with juventus last month, and it was reported last week he was close to joining Man City to reunite with formal manager Pep Guardiola . James Rodriguez officially joins Bayern Munich

Ba yern Munich have announced the signing of Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez. The Colombian captain was heavily linked with a move away from the Bernabeu after struggling for game-time last season, with Chelsea and Manchester United reported to have shown interest. But Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich will be his next employers, the club have confirmed on their official website. Rodriguez joins the Bavarian giants on a two-year loan deal, with the option to make the switch permanent for €32.5 million euros in 2019. The 25-year old will soon put pen to paper on his contract and undergo at medical at Bayern, where he will once again link up with Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian signed Rodriguez for Real Madrid in 2014 for around €80 million euros. The 2014 World Cup Golden Boot will join up with his teammates immediately for a 12-day pre-season tour of China and Singapore. The club will be jetting off on Sunday evening.

More than 3,000 people form the biggest Barcelona shirt

Barcelona , president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, participated in an event at Bryant Park in New York, between Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street, where a giant Blaugrana shirt was made with the help of supporters who had been waiting for hours to take part. In addition to Bartomeu, Thierry Henry, Juliano Belletti and the president of the new shirt sponsors were also present. According to the club, it was "around 12 o'clock when 3,330 participants, accredited by Guinness World Records, have raised the banners that shaped the biggest football shirt in history." Before this event, Bartomeu had to take a flight to Barcelona to oversee signings that are about to materialise, and then met with New York Mayor Bill De Blasio, who was given a personalised home shirt, on Friday.
