Gambo Mohammed joins Nigerian league champions Plateau United from Kano Pillars

Nigeria Professional Football League champions Plateau United have signed forward Gambo Mohammed on a two-year deal from Kano Pillars. Gambo, who is Kano Pillars all-time leading scorer, was rumoured to be on his way to Rivers United but has now joined the Jos club. The move ended his over a decade romance with Kano Pillars where he was a cult hero among the supporters. The 29-year old joined Kano Pillars from amateur outfit Buffalo FC in 2006 and won three NPFL titles with the club. He is the latest arrival at Plateau United following the acquisition of King Osanga, Charles Henlong, Amos Gyang and Tosin Omoyele. Other new arrivals are Henry Ochuba, Okiemute Odah, Rapheal Anyagwa, Afolabi Wahab and Peter Suswan. David Silva believes the improvements Manchester City have made under Pep Guardiola will provide a platform for major success next season. Guardiola took charge at the Etihad last summer after his contract at Bayern Munich came to an end and although City will end the season trophyless, Silva feels there have been significant enhancements that stand them in good stead ahead of the new campaign. Tottenham are poised to join the hunt for Real Socidedad winger Mikel Oyarzabal , according to a report. Italian news outlet  Calcio Mercato  claims that Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan are also keeping track of Oyarzabal, 20, whose stock has risen “significantly” in the past year. The one-time Spain international, who made his debut in March, has been firing on all cylinders in La Liga this season, scoring six goals in eight league appearances – five more than Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. His name is synonymous with the World Cup so it is only fitting that former Germany striker Miroslav Klose will bring out the trophy as the draw is made for Russia 2018. Now retired, the upcoming tournament will be the first that the former Lazio man has missed since 2002, with his record of 16 World Cup goals intact. "For very obvious reasons, the World Cup holds very special memories for me," Klose told FIFA.com. "I feel very honoured to somehow still be a part of the World Cup, even after my retirement, and particularly to present to Russia and to the world this trophy that we fought so hard to win in Brazil in 2014." Chelsea to sell Willian in order to fund Lucas Moura transfer

Chelsea are moving ahead with plans to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura and are preparing to sell Willian in order to fund the transfer, according to reports in France. The big-spending Ligue 1 club are reportedly ready to sell Lucas, who has fallen down the pecking order following the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. The Premier League champions are said to be one of the clubs offered the 25-year-old, and Antonio Conte has apparently shown interest. According to 10 Sport, Chelsea are making preparations to free funds to sign Lucas, who has 35 senior Brazil caps, and would sell Willian in order to do so. They feel they could get a higher fee for Willian than they would spend on Lucas, who it is reported could be signed for around €30million (£27m).
