Nigeria Professional Football League champions Plateau United have signed forward Gambo Mohammed on a two-year deal from Kano Pillars. Gambo, who is Kano Pillars all-time leading scorer, was rumoured to be on his way to Rivers United but has now joined the Jos club. The move ended his over a decade romance with Kano Pillars where he was a cult hero among the supporters. The 29-year old joined Kano Pillars from amateur outfit Buffalo FC in 2006 and won three NPFL titles with the club. He is the latest arrival at Plateau United following the acquisition of King Osanga, Charles Henlong, Amos Gyang and Tosin Omoyele. Other new arrivals are Henry Ochuba, Okiemute Odah, Rapheal Anyagwa, Afolabi Wahab and Peter Suswan. Chelsea are set to bring an end to their current striking position problem, after Lukaku's failed deal and Morata coming to Stamford bridge a bit difficult. Chelsea have now turned their attension to Gabon and Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with Diego Costa likely to move back to Atletico Madrid. Manchester united to hijack Bakayoko from Chelsea

Manchester United are reportedly set to beat Chelsea to the signing of another key summer target, with a fee said to have been agreed with AS Monaco for midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko . According to George Scott of the Daily Star, the Red Devils have had a £35 million offer for Bakayoko accepted. James Dickenson of the Daily Express reported similar news, suggesting the France international is on his way to Old Trafford. The reports note United have already swooped to pip Chelsea to the capture of Everton striker Romelu Lukaku this summer. News of interest from United will be troubling to Chelsea supporters after the Red Devils hijacked the club's move for Lukaku. However, given the reports emerging from France, Blues fans will remain quietly confident Bakayoko is on his way to Stamford Bridge.

Ronaldo's goal against Valencia was his 280th in La Liga, with the Portugal star also netting three times for Sporting Lisbon before scoring 84 Premier League goals in six highly successful years at Manchester United. Barcelona boss Luis Enrique exploited the post-match euphoria of his side's 6-1 annihilation of Sporting Gijon on Wednesday night to announce that he will quit at the end of the season. Enrique, 46, cited the grind of the pressure as the main reason for his departure. "We were all left a bit open-mouthed," admitted midfielder Ivan Rakitic, who said the squad was told of Enrique's decision just before his post-match press conference. Tottenham are poised to join the hunt for Real Socidedad winger Mikel Oyarzabal , according to a report. Italian news outlet  Calcio Mercato  claims that Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan are also keeping track of Oyarzabal, 20, whose stock has risen “significantly” in the past year. Tema youth were already confirmed relagated after getting just 12 points in 29 games and had notting to play for on the last day.
