Angry Messi tells Barca to Drop Andre Gomes

Gomes has endured a difficult first season at Barcelona since signing from Valencia in the summer.

But despite his erratic displays, manager Luis Enrique continues to persist with him.

His selection is said to be causing frictions in the dressing room with Messi particularly annoyed.

And Spanish outlet DiarioGol claim the Argentina international has demanded Gomes be dropped with immediate effect.

Messi and fellow forwards Neymar and Luis Suarez are said to be appalled at Enrique's faith in Gomes.

They believe their failure to hit top form is down to the 23-year-old lacklustre displays in the middle of the park.
The midfielder's inclusion has come at a price with Ivan Rakitic forced to settle for a place on the bench.

And Rakitic is now being Linked with a move to Real Madrid having grown tired of life out in the cold.

Barcelona have taken a big step in signing Griezmann according to reports

Barcelona have reportedly taken a significant step toward acquiring the signature of Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann after it emerged they've reached a "principle of agreement" with their target. French newspaper Le10Sport (h/t Calciomercato.com) reported Griezmann has given the green light to a move to the Camp Nou and could be well on the path to joining the Blaugrana next summer. The same article explained how Griezmann pulled the plug on a switch to Manchester United last summer due to Atletico's transfer ban, and he then extended his contract to raise his release clause to €200 million (£178 million). One would therefore assume that's the figure Los Rojiblancos will hold out for in order to sell Griezmann, despite the fact he's struggled to regain top form this season, as recently illustrated by Sky Sports Statto: United fans will undoubtedly be saddened to hear rumours of any pre-agreement with Barca, which could well mean their purs...

Jamie Vardy scored twice as Leicester City climbed out of the relegation zone. Leicester striker Vardy struck in each half as the fallen champions finally decided to turn up with a much-needed performance just four days after Claudio Ranieri had been sacked. Danny Drinkwater also scored a spectacular first half effort as Leicester overwhelmed Liverpool as the King Power Stadium came alive again. Leicester fans chanted Ranieri’s name, held banners and even organised a march through the city centre while the players forgot all about him to produce a victory reminiscent of last season’s title success. Ramos scores brace, Madrid beats Napoli 3-1

Real Madrid came from behind to secure a 3-1 away win against Napoli as the European Champions are through to the quarter finals with a 6-2 aggregate score. Knowing that they need to put pressure if they are going to have any chance of going through, Napoli took the initiative in the early stages of the match and were close after seven minutes.
