By
Argentina captain Lionel Messi has spoken to TyC Sports as he prepares for his country's game with Russia this weekend, which will serve as the official inauguration of the Luzhkini Stadium in Moscow.
Messi, among other things, revealed his excitement at making the World Cup but also responded to claims he runs the Argentina team in terms of squad and coach selection.
He was also asked about the chance of returning to Newell's Old Boys when he ends his career with Barcelona.
MESSI'S BEST PHRASES:
"I would like to play for Newell's but the truth is that I don't know what could happen."
"To play at La Bombonera was a beautiful experience"
"It's a lie that I put my friends and the coaches I want in the national team, I'm just one more player."
"There's nothing to clarify with Dybala. I understood from the first moment what he wanted to say."
"I have a chat pending with Maradona."
"It hurts all of us what happened in this time. After all these years, we're used to people talking about us and we live with that."
"I hope they give us a World Cup because it's something we all want.”
“My dad was always very critical of me, now a little less. I always chat about football with him."
"There are always things to improve and to keep growing."
"We suffered a lot to get to Russia 2018."
"They were saying that we didn't want Icardi with the national team. I never put a player [in the squad] or took one out."
“I prefer to avoid Spain [at the World Cup]."

Marc Bombardo the guy to become the new Charles Puyol

By
Image
His mother, Laura, saw quickly that this boy had limitless energy. When he was four, Marc Bombardo went to play for the team in his twon, Sant Quirze del Valles. He started off as a goalkeeper but saw quickly that it was not his job and moved to midfield. Two years later Barcelona signed him and decided that he was a central defender. And from there he hasn't changed. Marc, 11, has always been a responsible boy. In Benjamin B his coach Jordi Perez told him 'Bomba, keep a clean sheet yeah!" to add to the responsibility on his shoulders. His team-mates and even their opponents know Marc as 'la Bomba'. Although he's not a boy that has a lot of idols, Marc doesn't hide his footballing reference point. None other than Carles Puyol, another player that like him, loved playing football.  In his short career so far, two coaches have influenced him especially. Albert Puig Alcaide, the first coach he had at Benjamin B, the first to give him notions of techniques a...

By

Head Coach of the Iranian u17 side has accused Mali if age cheating at the ongoing U17 world cup in India. Iran were last Tuesday trashed 5-1 by Mali during the round of 16 match between both sides. Hadji Drame, Lassana N’Diaye, Fode Konate and Seme Camara were on the score sheet in the match dominated by Mali. "They sometimes look like they are an U-23 team and not in the same category as us (U-17),” said Al-Rubaye in the aftermath of the match.  “It’s quite visible in the way they play, the way they shoot and their abilities, like speed and physicality. “It's unfair sometimes because there is a big difference between African teams and others.” Yet Mali coach Jonas Komla shrugged off any insinuations that his side may be fielding overage players. ''In football, it is important to accept the results. In a tournament of this stature, there are clear rules and testing for every player is performed before the World Cup. We have passed all t...

The Belgian, however, has placed an unavoidable condition on the table at the time of closing, definitely, his signing for Real Madrid Florentino Perez: Hazard wants to be guaranteed an absolutely decisive role in the schemes of Zidane.  That is, he is not willing to force his arrival...

Manchester United secured Europa League progress at a cost, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan limping off shortly after opening the scoring against St Etienne to put his EFL Cup final hopes in jeopardy.
