Gomes has endured a difficult first season at Barcelona since signing from Valencia in the summer. But despite his erratic displays, manager Luis Enrique continues to persist with him. His selection is said to be causing frictions in the dressing room with Messi particularly annoyed. And Spanish outlet DiarioGol claim the Argentina international has demanded Gomes be dropped with immediate effect. Messi and fellow forwards Neymar and Luis Suarez are said to be appalled at Enrique's faith in Gomes. They believe their failure to hit top form is down to the 23-year-old lacklustre displays in the middle of the park. The midfielder's inclusion has come at a price with Ivan Rakitic forced to settle for a place on the bench. And Rakitic is now being Linked with a move to Real Madrid having grown tired of life out in the cold.

Dani Carvajal returns to Real Madrid training after heart infection

Dani Carvajal  returned to training on Monday morning at Real Madrid's Valdebabas facility. One month after he was diagnosed with a heart infection , the 25-year-old took to the turf along with fitness coach Javi Mayo.  On 25 October,  Zinedine Zidane delivered the positive news that Carvajal has recovered from the virus that ruled him out since late September, and that he had returned to light training. "Things are going well with Dani. It's all positive. Today he started on the bike and it takes time.  I am happy because he is healthy, but there is a recovery process  and he started a little yesterday. Today a bit more and we will see how it evolves," said the French coach. The medical staff at Real Madrid  will not rush Carvajal back to serious physical exertion , as there is a risk that the infection could return. As a result, his work-load will increase incrementally until he is ready to re-join the squad.

UCL Draw: Bayern takes on Madrid, as At.Madrid face Leicester City

Record German champions Bayern München will take on Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, while Borussia Dortmund will battle AS Monaco for a place in the final four. The pairings were confirmed during the UCL draw at UEFA headquarters in Nyon at Friday lunchtime. FC Bayern will first host Toni Kroos & Co. in Munich on 11th or 12th April, before travelling to the Spanish capital on 18th or 19th April. BVB will also play at home first, with the second leg set to be held in Monaco. Bayern reached the quarter-finals courtesy of two big wins over Arsenal, while a much-improved second-leg performance saw Thomas Tuchel’s Dortmund side past Benfica. They beat PSG with a 6-1 result, and advanced to the quarterfinals with one of the greatest comebacks in history despite conceding an away goal.                FIRST HALF The first period featured intense pressure from the  Blaugrana , who launched a barrage of attacks and scored the first goal after just three minutes thanks to Luis Suárez's effort to win a header and get the ball over the line.
