Ancelotti- "Benzema the best player to partner Ronaldo

By

Ancelotti knows Ronaldo       very well and had given his opinion    on who is a  better partner to him up front.

Former Real Madrid manager and current Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti has analysed Real Madrid and Juventus ahead of the Champions League final in a candid interview with Corriere della Sera.

One of his major comments explained why Alvaro Morata was getting such little game time –

“Morata plays so little under Zidane because Benzema is the best striker to play with Cristiano."

Karim Benzema has come under fire this season (until his heroics against Atletico Madrid, at least) for having lacklustre form in front of goal, and more importantly, for blocking the path into the first team for Alvaro Morata – who has been sensational when given a chance.

Marc Bombardo the guy to become the new Charles Puyol

By
Image
His mother, Laura, saw quickly that this boy had limitless energy. When he was four, Marc Bombardo went to play for the team in his twon, Sant Quirze del Valles. He started off as a goalkeeper but saw quickly that it was not his job and moved to midfield. Two years later Barcelona signed him and decided that he was a central defender. And from there he hasn't changed. Marc, 11, has always been a responsible boy. In Benjamin B his coach Jordi Perez told him 'Bomba, keep a clean sheet yeah!" to add to the responsibility on his shoulders. His team-mates and even their opponents know Marc as 'la Bomba'. Although he's not a boy that has a lot of idols, Marc doesn't hide his footballing reference point. None other than Carles Puyol, another player that like him, loved playing football.  In his short career so far, two coaches have influenced him especially. Albert Puig Alcaide, the first coach he had at Benjamin B, the first to give him notions of techniques a...

Mali looks like U23 side and not U17 says Iran U17 coach

By
Image
Head Coach of the Iranian u17 side has accused Mali if age cheating at the ongoing U17 world cup in India. Iran were last Tuesday trashed 5-1 by Mali during the round of 16 match between both sides. Hadji Drame, Lassana N’Diaye, Fode Konate and Seme Camara were on the score sheet in the match dominated by Mali. "They sometimes look like they are an U-23 team and not in the same category as us (U-17),” said Al-Rubaye in the aftermath of the match.  “It’s quite visible in the way they play, the way they shoot and their abilities, like speed and physicality. “It's unfair sometimes because there is a big difference between African teams and others.” Yet Mali coach Jonas Komla shrugged off any insinuations that his side may be fielding overage players. ''In football, it is important to accept the results. In a tournament of this stature, there are clear rules and testing for every player is performed before the World Cup. We have passed all t...

Tammy Abraham keen to prove his international credentials with England Tammy Abraham wants the opportunity to prove himself at international level after being handed his first senior England call-up for the friendlies against Germany and Brazil. Abraham was drafted into the squad alongside Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Joe Gomez, with the trio all fledgling Premier League players who have been fast-tracked into the England set-up for the fixtures at Wembley. Abraham has scored five times in 14 appearances while on loan at Swansea from Chelsea this season and now hopes he can show enough to Gareth Southgate in training to hand him his England bow against either Germany on Friday or Brazil next Tuesday. The 20-year-old striker said on Sky Sports: “It would be a massive achievement for me and a big confidence boost as well, it would show that I’m going in the right direction. If I do get my opportunity I’d like to grab it as much as I can. “I feel like I’m ready but it won’t be e...

Valencia 2-1 Real Madrid: La Liga leaders fall to shock defeat as West Ham flop Simone Zaza ruins Cristiano Ronaldo's 700th club appearance

By

Real Madrid  were put to the sword by Simone Zaza as Valencia ruined Cristiano Ronaldo’s 700th club football appearance winning 2-1 at Mestalla. Ronaldo scored with a towering header but the night belonged to the Italian international whose sensational first half strike will have West Ham supporters scratching their heads as to which Zaza it was they signed on loan last summer. This was the chance for Real Madrid to go four points clear of Barcelona in the first of two games in hand but it was Zaza voom after just five minutes when the West Ham flop, who failed to score in 11 games in England, got his second goal in two games for his new club.  And what a goal it was. Valencia goalkeeper Diego Alves launched his team first real attack down the right and Munir El Haddadi crossed for Zaza who made light of having his back to goal and Raphael Varane for close company by spinning 180 degrees and firing into Keylor Navas’ top right-hand corner in one movement. A.Madrid Progress despite Drawing goalless

By
Image
Last term's runners-up therefore became the third Spanish side into the last eight, along with Barcelona and holders  Real Madrid , giving LaLiga the most teams in Friday's draw. Had Bayer progressed, the Bundesliga would have held that honour. In an entertaining contest, Leverkusen created good chances, several for ex- Manchester United  forward  Javier Hernandez , but when they hit the target they found keeper Jan Oblak in unbeatable form, including with a scarcely-believable triple save. Similarly Bernd Leno pulled off some stunning stops. The Vicente Calderon, where Diego Simeone's side have a formidable European record, will therefore host at least one more  Champions League  tie before Atletico move to a new ground. The visitors had changed manager since the first leg, Tayfun Korkut replacing Roger Schmidt who was sacked after a 6-2 loss at Borussia Dortmund . Simeone had Fernando Torres available for the first time since the former Liverpool and Chel...

Messi doesn't think he can become friends with Ronaldo one day

By
Image
Messi and Ronaldo are two of the best to play football. Easily the two greatest players of their generation. While they respect each others talents, will the Barcelona and Real Madrid stars be friends? They have plenty in common. From guiding their respective sides to domestic and European glory, not to mention holding aloft the most prestigious individual honours. Messi and Ronaldo have nine Ballon d'Or gongs between them, though Messi is unsure whether they can become friends. "I don't know if we will be," the Argentine ace told MARCA. "Friendship is built through spending time together and getting to know each other. We have no relationship, mainly because we only see each other at awards ceremonies and that's the only time we speak. Obviously, they lock horns during the El Clasico and are often seen together at FIFA functions. Messi added: "Everything is fine, but our lives don't cross over very often."
