Gambo Mohammed joins Nigerian league champions Plateau United from Kano Pillars

Nigeria Professional Football League champions Plateau United have signed forward Gambo Mohammed on a two-year deal from Kano Pillars.
Gambo, who is Kano Pillars all-time leading scorer, was rumoured to be on his way to Rivers United but has now joined the Jos club.
The move ended his over a decade romance with Kano Pillars where he was a cult hero among the supporters.
The 29-year old joined Kano Pillars from amateur outfit Buffalo FC in 2006 and won three NPFL titles with the club.
He is the latest arrival at Plateau United following the acquisition of King Osanga, Charles Henlong, Amos Gyang and Tosin Omoyele.
Other new arrivals are Henry Ochuba, Okiemute Odah, Rapheal Anyagwa, Afolabi Wahab and Peter Suswan.
Plateau United who won the NPFL title for the first last season will compete in the CAF Champions League next year.

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde has identified Brazilian midfielder Paulinho as a man that fits the style of football he wants to play in his first season in charge of Barcelona. First Barcelona offer for Paulinho was rejected by his club Guangzhou, as they saw it as an inappropriate way to bid for a player. Barcelona have to change their bid plan if they really want to get the man they want. Barcelona will place a second offer above €30 million but not up to €40 million Guangzhou's asking price. Even if they are to pay €40 million, they will pay it based on the player's performance for them meaning they are not paying it once. Paulinho is a player Luiz Felipe Scolari would like to keep but won't do so against his wish.

Chelsea came through their Premier League encounter with Bournemouth 1-0 on Saturday to avoid slipping further behind in the title race. The Blues dominated the encounter on the South Coast, however they only managed to score the one goal. Eden Hazard scored that goal just after half time following a fine assist from Alvaro Morata. Speaking after the match, Cesar Azpilicueta revealed what Chelsea manager Antonio Conte said to the players at half-time. ‘Keep going. Ramos scores brace, Madrid beats Napoli 3-1

Real Madrid came from behind to secure a 3-1 away win against Napoli as the European Champions are through to the quarter finals with a 6-2 aggregate score. Knowing that they need to put pressure if they are going to have any chance of going through, Napoli took the initiative in the early stages of the match and were close after seven minutes. Marek Hamsik hit a low shot from outside the penalty area that ended up slightly wide.  The Italian team had another chance on the 13th minute. Antonio Conte has brushed aside talk of a return to Italy after he led his Chelsea side to a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday. Chelsea edged United in a tense game at Stamford Bridge to keep their hopes of defending their title alive. The Manchester United skipper suffered a muscle injury in United’s 3-0 win away to Leicester City, and is yet to recover since. He has missed three games after that, and looks all set to be on the sidelines for at least a week more. Jose Mourinho revealed in his pre-match press conference on Monday that Rooney will miss the Europa League tie against Saint-Étienne, and there is no guarantee that he will play on Sunday. Video Assistant Referee(VAR) to be used in Spain

According to Marca, The Spanish FA have been given the green light to begin using VAR - Video Assistant Referee - and the technology could make its debut in the second leg of Atletico Madrid and Elche's Copa del Rey tie at the end of November. VAR is already in use in some European leagues, but there has been a mixed reaction to it, particularly in Germany   and Italy. As such, any initial use of it in Spain will be for testing and it will not be rolled out across the country straight away. Only few people would argue the fact that A.c Milan new guy Leonardo Bonucci is not the best signing so far, considering the price paid for his service. Leonardo Bonucci cost A.c  Milan  €17 million less than what kyle Walker cost Man city, even with a better experience. Man City are to pay €57 million to Tottenham Hotspur for Kyle Walker while Leonardo Bonucci will cost Milan €40 million which made us think about how overpriced English players are.
