The match ended goalless in the first half until 58 mins when Newman Musa scored to give the host a deserved lead.

In Abia Ifeanyi Uba defeated Enyimba 1-0 in the Abia derby.

Min while Kano pillars defeated Enugu Rangers 2-0 in another epic battle.

Nasarawa united were the only team to win away from home after their 0-1 win over sunshine stars in Akure.

Record German champions Bayern München will take on Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, while Borussia Dortmund will battle AS Monaco for a place in the final four. The pairings were confirmed during the UCL draw at UEFA headquarters in Nyon at Friday lunchtime. Manchester City defender  Danilo  spoke to El Larguero, a Spanish radio programme, following the Premier League side’s penalty shoot-out victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup. Chelsea officially signs Germany and Roma defender Antonio Rudiger

Chelsea finally made Antonio Rudiger's move to the club official Sunday as the former AS Roma defender signed a five-year contract with the Blues. The club announced the news via its official website. In a statement, Rudiger expressed his joy at joining the Premier League champions: "It's a great feeling because not every player has the opportunity to join a huge club like this. "I am looking forward to meeting up with my new team-mates, and I'm very proud to officially become a Chelsea player." Abramovich move to settle rift between Conte and David Luiz

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is investigating whether there is a growing problem between manager Antonio Conte and the players. The Russian billionaire is increasing his involvement in the day-to-day running of the club following the resignation of technical director Michael Emenalo on Monday. According to Sportsmail, Abramovich visited Chelsea’s Cobham HQ last week, and has already made enquiries over the relationship between Conte and his squad. Having fallen out with Diego Costa last season before selling him in the summer, question marks are being raised over Conte’s relationship with David Luiz.
