Rooney rejoins Everton after 13years in Manchester united

The 31-year-old forward is back where it all began, with the Toffees making the England international the latest addition in a summer squad refresh.

Wayne Rooney has completed a return to boyhood club Everton after 13 years playing for Manchester United.

The England striker, 31, left Goodison Park in 2004 for £25.6m and returns for a reported £10m to help fill the void left by Lukaku's departure.

Rooney becomes the latest arrival at Goodison Park in an ambitious summer rebuild by Ronald Koeman, with big-money deals for the likes of Jordan Pickford, Micheal Keane, Davy Klaassen and Sandro Ramirez already wrapped up.
A product of the Toffees’ academy system left for Old Trafford over a decade ago after emerging as one of the most exciting talents in world football.

That reputation was enhanced during a record-breaking spell with the Red Devils which saw him overtake Sir Bobby Charlton as the club’s leading all-time goalscorer – while claiming the same record with England.

Rooney also collected an enviable collection of silverware with United, including five Premier League titles, the FA Cup, three League Cups, the Champions League and the World Club Cup.

Everton were quick to express their interest in bringing a home-town star back to his roots, and that deal has now been completed.

"Wayne has shown me that ambition that we need and that winning mentality – he knows how to win titles and I’m really happy he’s decided to come home,” Everton manager Ronald Koeman told the official Everton site.

“He loves Everton and he was desperate to come back. He is still only 31 and I don’t have any doubts about his qualities. It’s fantastic he’s here.”

Rohr:Vincent Enyeama may return to the super Eagles team.

Lille OSC coach Marcelo Bielsa has decided to make a u-turn and recall Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama back to the first team. The former Super Eagles skipper has been handed a lifeline by Bielsa following his return from a six month injury lay-off. Enyeama and 11 others were deemed surplus to requirements by Bielsa upon his appointment as coach of the French giants last summer, paving the way for them to leave the club. There has been a tense atmosphere in the Barcelona dressing room over the last few days, after a training ground bust up between Juan Carlos Unzue and Neymar in which the assistant coach compared the Brazilian's attitude to that of his contemporary, Ronaldinho. The incident apparently occurred after Unzue reproached the player for the way in which he was applying himself in training. "If you continue this way, you'll end up just like Ronaldinho," he said to Neymar, a comment that was clearly not to the liking of a player who can count the former Barcelona No.10 amongst his close friends. Cavani reveals Neymar will take PSG next penalty

Edinson Cavani has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery has decided his side's next penalty will be taken by Neymar. The Uruguayan and the world's most expensive player were embroiled in an embarrassing public fall-out during the club's 2-0 win over Lyon in September. Neymar was seen remonstrating with Cavani as they both stood over the spot arguing over who should take the penalty, having earlier squabbled over the taking of a set-piece. Emery and the PSG hierarchy have done all they can to prevent a similar situation arising again with Cavani reportedly being offered €1million to pass on penalty duties to his Brazilian team-mate. After Cavani rejected the financial offer, Emery has been forced to step in and hand the reigns over to Neymar himself. Mourinho worried about the possibility of Fellaini leaving Manchester united

Jose Mourinho, the Manchester United manager, has admitted he is worried Marouane Fellaini will leave the club. Fellaini is out of contract at the end of the season and talks over a new deal remain at an impasse. The Belgium international midfielder rejected a new contract offer in September, and while United remain hopeful of persuading the player to stay, he will be free to talk to foreign suitors in January and Mourinho fears he could be tempted to go next summer.
