More than 3,000 people form the biggest Barcelona shirt

Barcelona, president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, participated in an event at Bryant Park in New York, between Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street, where a giant Blaugrana shirt was made with the help of supporters who had been waiting for hours to take part.

In addition to Bartomeu, Thierry Henry, Juliano Belletti and the president of the new shirt sponsors were also present.

According to the club, it was "around 12 o'clock when 3,330 participants, accredited by Guinness World Records, have raised the banners that shaped the biggest football shirt in history."

Before this event, Bartomeu had to take a flight to Barcelona to oversee signings that are about to materialise, and then met with New York Mayor Bill De Blasio, who was given a personalised home shirt, on Friday.

Manchester United will trigger contract extension clauses on four first team stars that will stop them from holding talks with other clubs in January. According to reports, the Red Devils are ready to extend the deals of Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Ashley Young and Daley Blind. All are out of contract at the end of the current season but Manchester United have the option to extend their deals by a further 12 months, tying them at the club until summer 2019. The call follows an earlier decision to make the same move with Luke Shaw. Making the decision before the turn of the year will stop the players from being able to talk with foreign clubs in January about a potential move, at least openly. Herrera in particular has become a concern with the Spaniard linked with a move to Atletico Madrid. UCL Draw: Bayern takes on Madrid, as At.Madrid face Leicester City

Record German champions Bayern München will take on Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, while Borussia Dortmund will battle AS Monaco for a place in the final four. The pairings were confirmed during the UCL draw at UEFA headquarters in Nyon at Friday lunchtime. FC Bayern will first host Toni Kroos & Co. in Munich on 11th or 12th April, before travelling to the Spanish capital on 18th or 19th April.
