Tennis- Del Potro: 'Roger Federer is the best ever, he can be World No. 1 again'

For Juan Martin Del Potro, Roger Federer is not only an inspiration but a great friend too. Many times the Argentinean tennis player said that when he was out of competition due to the wrist injury, Roger supported him through messages on WhatsApp, and now that also Federer, who was out six months due to a knee injury, is back at his best level winning Australian Open, a comment by Del Potro about it couldn't await.

'I think it was fantastic for us [players] and for fans' Del Potro told ESPN about the epic five sets battle won by Federer against Nadal - I woke up at 5:00 AM only to watch the final, and if there were other players I don't think I wouldn't have done it. From them you can learn a lot day by day, you can beat them too because they are normal (smiles). When you have a natural talent like Federer's, you only need to be doing well physically. If I managed to comeback and to do a good pre-season after a long injury, imagine him that is the best player ever... I hope he stays healthy, it would be beautiful if he could compete with Djokovic and Murray for the first position (in the ATP Rankings).'

Official: Dani Alves rejects Man city and joins PSG

Dani Alves terminated his contract with juventus last month, and it was reported last week he was close to joining Man City to reunite with formal manager Pep Guardiola . Goal claimed that the three time Champions League winning defender was to sign a two-year deal at the Etihad Stadium worth £8.6 million, equating to roughly £85,000-per-week. However Alves has had a change of heart and instead has signed for Paris Saint-Germain, where he is expected to earn more than double what City were offering him. Ba yern Munich have announced the signing of Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez. The Colombian captain was heavily linked with a move away from the Bernabeu after struggling for game-time last season, with Chelsea and Manchester United reported to have shown interest. But Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich will be his next employers, the club have confirmed on their official website. Rodriguez joins the Bavarian giants on a two-year loan deal, with the option to make the switch permanent for €32.5 million euros in 2019. The 25-year old will soon put pen to paper on his contract and undergo at medical at Bayern, where he will once again link up with Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian signed Rodriguez for Real Madrid in 2014 for around €80 million euros. The 2014 World Cup Golden Boot will join up with his teammates immediately for a 12-day pre-season tour of China and Singapore. The club will be jetting off on Sunday evening.

Head Coach of the Iranian u17 side has accused Mali if age cheating at the ongoing U17 world cup in India. Iran were last Tuesday trashed 5-1 by Mali during the round of 16 match between both sides.
