Chelsea ready to pay £100m for Mauro Icardi to partner Alvaro Morata

CHELSEA are looking to add fire power to their attacking force in order to compete with Premier League high flyers.
To do this the Italian hopes to bring Inter Milan's captain Mauro Icardi to partner their striker Alvaro Morata
The striker would cost Chelsea in the region of £100million, which would make him the most expensive Premier League player.
Conte has been tasked with retaining his title, a mission which is looking far less likely as the games go on.
It is unquestionable whether or not Icardi would add quality to the Chelsea
squad, the issue for the champions is catching up with the unprecedented pace set by Pep Guardiola's Manchester City side.
The London club face a number of challenges if they wish to bring the young forward in however.
Icardi would prefer a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid
, a club searching for a young striker to replace Karim Benzema.
And Inter are unwilling to let go of their star man mid-season.

Alonso optimistic Chelsea will beat Roma after weekend disappointing loss to Crystal Palace

Alonso said Roma is a very strong team and Chelsea will need to give 100 per cent in order to beat them. According to the defender,  after the disappointing  loss at Palace, the only way forward is to work hard and win our next game. He believes tomorrow provides them with another chance to put in a good performance, as they did in Madrid. Dutch FA to speak to Vitesse about racist chanting

The Dutch football association KNVB is to look into reports that Vitesse fans made monkey noises directed at Ajax keeper Andre Onana during their match last weekend. The investigation followed a video on YouTube in which the sounds can be heard clearly behind the Ajax goal, where hardened Vitesse fans were sitting. The part of the video with the noise has now been removed but the KNVB has the original recording, website Nu.nl said. ‘Racism has no place in the stadium and must be tackled,’ the KNVB said on Twitter on Tuesday. ‘The KNVB has approached Vitesse to take steps.’ Nu.nl said the KNVB will decide on the basis of the clubs and the referees reports whether to start a formal investigation. Ernesto Valverde  will a few problems to keep him occupied this week.  Gerard Piqué who went into this yesterday's meeting with  Leganés  on four yellow cards, picked up a fifth booking on 29 minutes for which means he will now miss next week's away trip to Valencia. Head Coach of the Iranian u17 side has accused Mali if age cheating at the ongoing U17 world cup in India. Iran were last Tuesday trashed 5-1 by Mali during the round of 16 match between both sides. Hadji Drame, Lassana N’Diaye, Fode Konate and Seme Camara were on the score sheet in the match dominated by Mali. Official: Dani Alves rejects Man city and joins PSG

Dani Alves terminated his contract with juventus last month, and it was reported last week he was close to joining Man City to reunite with formal manager Pep Guardiola . Goal claimed that the three time Champions League winning defender was to sign a two-year deal at the Etihad Stadium worth £8.6 million, equating to roughly £85,000-per-week. However Alves has had a change of heart and instead has signed for Paris Saint-Germain, where he is expected to earn more than double what City were offering him. The former Barcelona right-back has taken on the No.32 shirt at PSG, and has penned a two-year deal with the Ligue One side and will earn roughly £240,000 a week.
