Manchester united to battle Chelsea and Real Madrid for Gremio midfielder Arthur Melo

The 21-year-old’s attracted interest from across Europe this season after guiding the Brazilian club to the Copa Libertadores final.
Melo, who plays as an attacking midfielder, has been watched by Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona this term and was recently called up to Brazil’s national squad.
Jose Mourinho is keen to add creativity to his squad and has targeted a move for Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil in the summer.
However, the German is 29 and Melo – commonly known as just ‘Arthur’ – would provide better long-term value.
According to the Daily mail, United are interested in signing the Brazilian and will compete with the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona for his signature.

Alonso optimistic Chelsea will beat Roma after weekend disappointing loss to Crystal Palace

Alonso said Roma is a very strong team and Chelsea will need to give 100 per cent in order to beat them. According to the defender,  after the disappointing  loss at Palace, the only way forward is to work hard and win our next game. He believes tomorrow provides them with another chance to put in a good performance, as they did in Madrid. Dutch FA to speak to Vitesse about racist chanting

The Dutch football association KNVB is to look into reports that Vitesse fans made monkey noises directed at Ajax keeper Andre Onana during their match last weekend. The investigation followed a video on YouTube in which the sounds can be heard clearly behind the Ajax goal, where hardened Vitesse fans were sitting. The part of the video with the noise has now been removed but the KNVB has the original recording, website Nu.nl said. ‘Racism has no place in the stadium and must be tackled,’ the KNVB said on Twitter on Tuesday. ‘The KNVB has approached Vitesse to take steps.’ Nu.nl said the KNVB will decide on the basis of the clubs and the referees reports whether to start a formal investigation. Head Coach of the Iranian u17 side has accused Mali if age cheating at the ongoing U17 world cup in India. Iran were last Tuesday trashed 5-1 by Mali during the round of 16 match between both sides. Hadji Drame, Lassana N’Diaye, Fode Konate and Seme Camara were on the score sheet in the match dominated by Mali.
