Peru striker banned by FIFA for failing Drug test

PERU striker Paolo Guerrero is out of this countries vital World Cup play-off with New Zealand, after failing a drug test.
The Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) confirmed the news after their captain was selected for a random drugs test following the goalless draw with Argentina last month.

Accoring to Globoesporte the 33-year-old's sample had traces of Benzoylecglonine, the main component of cocaine.
However, sorces close to the player have denied he would take drugs.
Guerrero has been hit with an initial 30 day suspension by Fifa and will miss the double-header with the Kiwis in the upcoming international break.
The Flamengo forward will also miss the Copa Sudamericana semi-final against Columbian side Junior Baranquilla.
Guerrero who is the Peruvian all-time leading marksman with 33 goals has seven days to respond.

Video Assistant Referee(VAR) to be used in Spain

According to Marca, The Spanish FA have been given the green light to begin using VAR - Video Assistant Referee - and the technology could make its debut in the second leg of Atletico Madrid and Elche's Copa del Rey tie at the end of November. VAR is already in use in some European leagues, but there has been a mixed reaction to it, particularly in Germany   and Italy. As such, any initial use of it in Spain will be for testing and it will not be rolled out across the country straight away. There has been a tense atmosphere in the Barcelona dressing room over the last few days, after a training ground bust up between Juan Carlos Unzue and Neymar in which the assistant coach compared the Brazilian's attitude to that of his contemporary, Ronaldinho. The incident apparently occurred after Unzue reproached the player for the way in which he was applying himself in training. "If you continue this way, you'll end up just like Ronaldinho," he said to Neymar, a comment that was clearly not to the liking of a player who can count the former Barcelona No.10 amongst his close friends.
