Dani Carvajal returns to Real Madrid training after heart infection

Dani Carvajal returned to training on Monday morning at Real Madrid's Valdebabas facility.

One month after he was diagnosed with a heart infection , the 25-year-old took to the turf along with fitness coach Javi Mayo. 

On 25 October, Zinedine Zidane delivered the positive news that Carvajal has recovered from the virus that ruled him out since late September, and that he had returned to light training.

"Things are going well with Dani. It's all positive. Today he started on the bike and it takes time. I am happy because he is healthy, but there is a recovery process and he started a little yesterday. Today a bit more and we will see how it evolves," said the French coach.

The medical staff at Real Madrid will not rush Carvajal back to serious physical exertion, as there is a risk that the infection could return. As a result, his work-load will increase incrementally until he is ready to re-join the squad.

Manchester united to hijack Bakayoko from Chelsea

Manchester United are reportedly set to beat Chelsea to the signing of another key summer target, with a fee said to have been agreed with AS Monaco for midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko . According to George Scott of the Daily Star, the Red Devils have had a £35 million offer for Bakayoko accepted. James Dickenson of the Daily Express reported similar news, suggesting the France international is on his way to Old Trafford. The reports note United have already swooped to pip Chelsea to the capture of Everton striker Romelu Lukaku this summer. News of interest from United will be troubling to Chelsea supporters after the Red Devils hijacked the club's move for Lukaku. However, given the reports emerging from France, Blues fans will remain quietly confident Bakayoko is on his way to Stamford Bridge.

Gambo Mohammed joins Nigerian league champions Plateau United from Kano Pillars

Nigeria Professional Football League champions Plateau United have signed forward Gambo Mohammed on a two-year deal from Kano Pillars. Gambo, who is Kano Pillars all-time leading scorer, was rumoured to be on his way to Rivers United but has now joined the Jos club. The move ended his over a decade romance with Kano Pillars where he was a cult hero among the supporters. The 29-year old joined Kano Pillars from amateur outfit Buffalo FC in 2006 and won three NPFL titles with the club. He is the latest arrival at Plateau United following the acquisition of King Osanga, Charles Henlong, Amos Gyang and Tosin Omoyele.
