Formal Real Madrid player already missing Madrid

Manchester City defender Danilo spoke to El Larguero, a Spanish radio programme, following the Premier League side’s penalty shoot-out victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup.

The Brazilian refused to choose one over the other when asked who he will choose between Zidane and Guardiola.

“They’re two great coaches. I had a really good relationship with Zidane during my two years at Real Madrid and now I’m really good with Guardiola.”

The formal Madrid man praised his compatriot for his improvement.

“He’s Brazilian but I didn’t know him,he has surprised me with his quality and maturity despite only being 20 years old.”

He also said something about Messi and Bale.

He said that the Pep Guardiola “has not asked about Bale”, but admitted that he would love to play alongside the Argentine: “We have a really good squad, but you can improve everything… Messi is a genius. Of course I would like to play with him, he’s one of the best.”

In his final talk he talked about how he missed Real Madrid.

“I miss Real Madrid to be honest. I had two incredible years winning important things and the people always treated me really well, but you have to turn the page.”

An 'angry' Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly rejected a new contract at Real Madrid and demanded a transfer away from the Spanish giants at the end of the season. Ronaldo, who has previously made it clear he didn't want to extend his current deal which runs out in 2021, was believed to have wanted to quit the club last summer. Jamie Vardy scored twice as Leicester City climbed out of the relegation zone. Leicester striker Vardy struck in each half as the fallen champions finally decided to turn up with a much-needed performance just four days after Claudio Ranieri had been sacked. Danny Drinkwater also scored a spectacular first half effort as Leicester overwhelmed Liverpool as the King Power Stadium came alive again. Leicester fans chanted Ranieri’s name, held banners and even organised a march through the city centre while the players forgot all about him to produce a victory reminiscent of last season’s title success. Xabi Alonso got a standing ovation from Bayern Munich's fans when he was replaced by Frank Ribery in 82 minutes of the game. Real Madrid are closing in on the signature of striker Vinicius Jr and the 16-year-old even took a medical examination for the club on Monday. The tests were planned by Vinicius' current side Flamengo, although the results were also sent on to Los Blancos as per their request. Globoesporte say that the player went to Samaritano Hospital in Barra da Tijuca, near Rio de Janeiro, for the medical, with the LaLiga giants reported by MARCA to be now on the verge of completing a deal.
